Talit Workshops Workshops are offered to students and adults to design and make their own hand-painted silk talit. Please note we're looking for new permanent location for talit workshops. If your group or synagogue has a large room available where the talit workshops can be held, I will donate a portion of each registrant's fee to your synagogue. All that's needed is a large room with access to a sink, some tables I will cover, and some storage for the silk frames. Interested? OPTION ONE-INDIVIDUAL WORKSHOP:
Individual talit workshop in my Newton studio; time to be arranged at your convenience. I will work one-on-one with you (or you and a parent) privately to create your silk talit and bag. A private workshop takes approximately 3 hours. Fee is $360. For information, email joysilkpaint@gmail.com
OPTION TWO-PAINTING FROM YOUR DESIGN:
I will meet with you for up to an hour and help you draw an original talit design. If you already have your drawing, I will work from that. Later, in my home studio, I will paint your talit for you from your design using your color and fabric choices. Fee is $360. For information, email joysilkpaint@gmail.com
OPTION THREE-GROUP WORKSHOP:
You may schedule a workshop for your synagogue or group, and I will bring a workshop to you! I will bring all the frames, silk, dyes and everything needed for your group to create silk talitot and bags. A minimum of 8 participants is required. The fee per talit and bag is $280. You do not need to prepare separate drawings for each panel or the neck piece and bag. One horizontal 8x20 drawing in simple outline style is all you need, done in pencil only. Please don't color in the drawing.
